I was introduced to Kate after I had already been in therapy for a few years.  I wasn't healing certain aspects of myself and EMDR wasn't working for my nervous system. I would engage and then my brain would shut down immediately. My window of tolerance wasn't large enough to get the full benefit of the practice.

With Kate, I was able to stay calm through the engagement and even recovered memories that had previously been long gone.  I wear a tracker, and even while dealing with strong emotions, I was in such a calm state that it thought I had taken a nap.  I was crying and addressing my past, and my body was so relaxed my tracker assumed I was asleep! I was able to put things back together that helped me get back on track with exercising, having fun, honoring commitments I made to myself, and was able to figure out what I needed to do to stop my nervous eating.

“Before trying hypnotherapy I really wasn't sure what to expect. I mean, you hear of people getting hypnotized and then clucking like a chicken, but other than that I was clueless. But Kate explained the difference between stage hypnosis and hypnotherapy before we started (& that there would be no clucking!)

Being hypnotized is having someone guide you into a meditative state. It's like a guided meditation essentially. This was the 1st step working with Kate.  Since I do guided meditations all of the time on my own, I knew what to expect. However, with Kate, it was next level! Usually when I do it using a meditation app, it works well, I feel relaxed, and am able to process emotions and thoughts.  Doing hypnosis with Kate was in the deepest state of relaxation I've ever been in. If we put this in terms of brain waves, I imagine I was in the thick of theta!  I've never felt so relaxed!

The 2nd step working with Kate was doing the therapy part of hypnotherapy. Doing hypnotherapy starts with hypnosis and then  the therapy element methodically helps you access subconscious thoughts and feelings in a safe space, to help you work through things that may be keeping you stuck that you are not consciously aware of. She helped me identify the present feelings and thoughts around my issue, then she took me back to the first time I ever remembered feeling that same feeling. It was fascinating! I had no idea I'd be transported back to where that hurt and emotion began. I was finally able to figure out why I was feeling a certain way in the present. 

I don't think I would've been able to be transported back, to connect the two things, had it not been for Kate and the process she used. As a result of trying hypnotherapy and trusting Kate, I was able to acknowledge the emotion that was caused from a specific trauma, release it, and heal it! I actually truly feel like I healed from those earlier life wounds... in just a few sessions! I went from a place of feeling really stuck in my present life, to feeling like I had the power in my mind and body to confidently deal with it. It was so liberating and felt like it took a heavy burden off of my mind AND body.

For those of you who are toying around with the idea of doing it, you never have to worry about being left stranded in your emotions or clucking like a chicken for that matter 😂  Kate wouldn't do that. I think one of the biggest deterrents for people is possibly the fear of the unknown, of being stuck in emotions, etc. Kate is an expert in her field and I'd highly recommend her any day of the week for all of my loved ones!  I can't wait to do it again!”
